Villa Eliana, Sorrento

Villa Eliana

A PRIVATE HILLSIDE RESIDENCE WITH PANORAMIC COASTAL VIEWS

Set high above the Sorrento coastline, Villa Eliana offers a more elevated and secluded perspective over the Bay of Naples—where uninterrupted views extend across Capri, Ischia, and Mount Vesuvius.

Originally built in the 1960s as a private residence for Neapolitan shipowner Achille Lauro, the villa retains a strong architectural identity—defined by clean lines, expansive terraces, and a sense of openness that frames the surrounding landscape from every angle.

The Setting & Atmosphere

Positioned within the hills of Sorrento, the villa offers a level of privacy and perspective that feels distinctly removed from the more central venues.

Terraces extend outwards towards the sea, while gardens and poolside areas create a series of layered spaces—each designed to capture light, view, and atmosphere throughout the day.

The setting is particularly defined by its openness—wide horizons, expansive skies, and a sense of scale that allows the celebration to feel both spacious and immersive.

A More Architectural Design Approach

Villa Eliana lends itself to a more structured and intentional design direction.

Unlike garden-heavy or highly decorative venues, the strength of the space lies in its architecture and positioning. Clean compositions, refined tablescapes, and a restrained palette allow the setting to remain the focal point, while subtle detailing introduces warmth as the day transitions into evening.

This is a venue that benefits from clarity in design—where each element feels considered, rather than layered for effect.

The Experience

With exclusive use of the villa for the celebration, the setting becomes entirely private—allowing the day to unfold without interruption.

The layout supports a natural progression from ceremony to aperitivo and evening reception, with each space offering a slightly different perspective across the coastline.

With capacity for up to approximately 200 guests, Villa Eliana is well suited to larger celebrations, while its layout ensures the experience remains cohesive rather than overwhelming.

A selection of on-site suites allows for a more immersive experience, particularly for close family or a smaller group of guests.

Who This Venue Is Suited To

Villa Eliana is particularly suited to couples seeking:

• A private villa with strong architectural character

• A setting that feels elevated, open, and expansive

• A larger-scale celebration without losing visual cohesion

• A wedding defined by view, light, and atmosphere rather than heavy styling

It appeals to those who favour a more refined, structured aesthetic over a traditional or overly decorative approach.

Our Approach

At Sophisticated Weddings Italy, our work at Villa Eliana is centred on clarity, balance, and spatial flow.

We consider how each terrace and setting is experienced, how the day transitions between spaces, and how design elements can enhance—rather than compete with—the architecture and surrounding landscape.

Working with a limited number of clients each year allows us to deliver a highly personalised, detail-driven experience—where every element is carefully composed and intentionally placed.

We invite you to explore a recent wedding at Villa Eliana, along with a film that captures the scale, atmosphere, and perspective of this elevated coastal setting.
